How might we imrpove vendor profiles?

- This prompt allowed for a design challenge and an opportunity for improvements and innovation for a current experience
- Produce impactful design decisions and outcomes
- Enhance vendor Profile experience for current and future opportunities
- Workrise offers and highlight them

Vendor users found it difficult to find meaning in managing their profile

- Opportunities for improving existing features such as company logos, descriptions, and displaying them
- Expanding the educational reminders and cards that informs users why and how to improve their company profile
- Understanding competitors experience to explore possibilities of additional features to improve vendor profile experience and personalization

Main points

- The visual hierarchy of information is confusing
- Poor communication of value in profile completion
- Lack of customization / personalization for vendor users

Problem with current experience

The Value of Vendor Network
Users are not receiving enough information or reminders on the value of maintaining or optimizing their profile for Client consumption

Vendor Differentiation
Current profile building options does not allow users to truly personalize their profile via data & branding

Vendor UX
Current profile is functional but feels like a skeleton and is not visually enticing or encourages users to re-engage with profile content

Competitive Analysis

Hypotheses

1. If we add more intentional reminders around profile maintenance, then vendors will be more likely to re-engage with profile data, because they are getting consistent updates about the value of maintenance

2. If we give vendors profile editing tools that enable them to showcase and differentiate their services, then vendors will be more likely to refine the information displayed in their profile, so that it’s more enticing to clients

3. If we more prominently display how vendor data is being consumed by clients, then vendors may better understand how to position the information they want to share in their profile

Feedback

To stay in the scope and timeline for this project, I decided to focus our improvements within the profile space even though there were opportunities discovered within the profile onboarding [FTUE] experience space.

Mid-fi Wireframes

Overview

- Our participant was a Sales Engineer at DXP Enterprises, Inc.
- He has experience in building and managing profiles for a large cap company.
- I asked questions based on 2 of my hi-fi screens.

Here's what I found from Daniel's feedback

Hierarchy

Daniel's ranking:
1. What services and how do I provide them?
2. Areas of operation
3. Years in business

Storytelling

Daniel expressed how he would like to see more pictures and videos and question how those can increase visibility
Visibility

Daniel experienced confusion or had a different understanding with the intentions behind the info cards
Reorganize how information is visualized on the page based on what users want to see first
Provide vendors with control over how they want to market themselves and their company (pictures & videos)
Organize and present content with context so that users understand the intentions of the design and to serve the purpose of design concept

Project Takeaway

Embracing Iterations

With design, there are always room for improvement! I learned a lot about being vulnerable in design reviews and being open to change and iterations as design is not static.

User Research

I learned a lot on how to conduct user research and the whole lifecycle process. Preparing -> conducting -> debrief -> feedback iterations
Understanding Users

Took some time to understand my users. But with experience mapping, research, and competitive analysis, I could design with more empathy and goals in mind.
Meeting Expectations

After conducing this project, I was able to see it in production and glad I was able to meet my own personal expectations as well as my team’s.

and TIME!
